ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

G Daft’s DFM Recommendation

Flight Sergeant Daft was the Wireless Operator/Air Gunner in an aircraft which took off from Linton-on-Ouse at 22.30 hours on 19th May, 1942, to bomb Mannheim. Prior to reaching the target, they were shot down and Sergeant Daft landed safely. With great courage and determination, he evaded capture and eventually arrived back in this country. I recommend the award of the Distinguished Flying Medal.
