Armstrong-Whitworth FK8 C8558 was being utilised for an Artillery Patrol on 24th June 1918Its crew comprised:

  • CF Brown (Pilot)
  • HH Creighton (Observer)

The RFC Casualty Report shows “Machine left aerodrome at 11.35 and was forced to land at Rainneville owing to radiator having been shot through. Whilst taking off again, machine collided with a tree; Pilot: Uninjured; Observer: Slightly injured”.
