The RFC Casualty Report shows “Machine left aerodrome at 12.00 for practice landing flight and turning to come into the aerodrome (Estrees-en-Chaussee), stalled and nosedived to earth (12.10); pilot killed”

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s records show that after the war,  the remains of FW Saunders were concentrated (reinterred) as follows:

  •  SAUNDERS, F W Second Lieutenant TINCOURT NEW BRITISH CEMETERY IV. D. 4.
